Letter from Shari Kark - pre-Purim 2008Dear Hashem, Are you waiting to hear from us? Are you waiting to listen to our cries for help? Tomorrow is the “Fast of Esther” and we recall how Esther wisely urged her people to fast and pray to avert the decree to destroy all Jews. She knew that political pressure was only a part of the solution. Today, once again, Jews are being murdered, stabbed, threatened and yet it is very quiet on the street where I live. But we know. I know. We are in trouble once again. We need help. Yes, I do lift my eyes to the mountains. Where will our help come from? From you Hashem. I can’t just write my Congressman. Tomorrow I will fast (I have never observed this fast before.) I will give Tzedukah, and I will cry out to you along with my Jewish sisters and brothers all over the world. We need your help. Now! Your faithful daughter, Shayna Sara (Shari Ancell Kark)
Letter from Neriah Bracha and the Chizzali Family - pre-Purim 2008To be read at Purim to the Aish Family : Dear Aish Kodesh, Love from all the Chizzali Family, We miss you and wish we were there to celebrate this wonderful holiday with you! I want you all to know how much you meant to us, and to me in particular. I never understood anything that was said during those prayers Reb. Gavriel chanted, and now that I do, it makes me miss Aish even more. I remember all of those questions I used to ask Reb. Gavriel during those 15 to 30 minute discussions about the parsha, and I remember how much I looked forward to talking to all of the amazing people at shul. And I want to make sure that all of you know that us being here, and living the life in Israel, was all of your doing. For me Aish was the starting point of it all, the warming welcome every time I stepped into that two-car garage just made me closer to H' and to the Jews as a whole. I will never forget that amazing Purim when the three silly jokers made fun of Reb. Gavriel. It had me laughing so hard for a week! I love all of you with all my heart, And where ever I go in life, will be because I met you, and will never forget any of you. Thank you for all you have done for me and my family. Love, and still waiting for messiah, Neriah Bracha
